Character Counts at Santa Rosa Elementary School

We are excited to kickoff our Character Counts Program at Santa Rosa this month! The Character Counts Program is a framework to teach and model the six pillars of character, which are Trustworthiness, Respect, Responsibility, Fairness, Caring, and Citizenship.

We will be focusing on and teaching one pillar at a time through school-wide activities, lessons, and incentives. Our goal is for our Santa Rosa students to display examples of good character in their everyday school and home life.

For the months of August and September, we will focus on "Respect," which is the Golden Rule. Our theme is Respect is your Golden Ticket! Classroom teachers recognize one of their students as the Respect Student of the Week. That student will draw a ticket in the front office for a special prize.

At the end of September, teachers will also recognize students in the classroom who have displayed the pillar of Respect all month. We will announce these students at our Student Recognition Assembly, and they will paint their handprint, on our Character Wave, in the Cafeteria.
